Final Plans

Public consultation has helped us to ensure the surgery is separate to the store development, with its own access. Extending and refurbishing the surgery will maintain the existing access arrangements, whilst providing modern facilities for colleagues and patients alike.

The changes to the surgery will include:

• New consulting rooms
• Three additional clinical rooms
• Refurbishment of the main entrance
• Refurbishment of several existing consulting and examination rooms
• New space for teaching
• New and refurbished administration and storage facilities
• Potential for increased community services in the future
• Improved staff amenities

The local pharmacy will be temporarily relocated during construction and then re-housed within the development to ensure it continues to serve the surgery patients. We would also like to take this opportunity to confirm that Sainsbury’s will be paying for the refurbishment
and extension of the doctors’ surgery.
